This review of the Frigidaire FFAD5033R1 will help you understand why this model line has been around for several years, as Frigidaire has been offering this model line for years and it might be the best dehumidifier core product in their dehumidifier line up. We will also detail for you, why this particular model, a new release for 2015, improves on an their already popular previous models. In addition to the model line being popular, if you choose a Frigidaire product, you always have the peace of mind knowing you are getting a product from a quality manufacturer. Frigidaire has long been a household name in home appliances and this dehumidifier continues that traditions. With that in mind, here is our review of the Frigidaire FFAD5033r1 Dehumidifier:
Full Feature List
The FFAD5033R1 comes with a full list of features that equals most other units in its category. It has top mounted unit controls that are easy to access with a simple layout.
When you purchase a home appliance, obviously you want it to last for years to come. This unit has been proven over many years and offers a design that improves on an already proven and reliable model line. It also comes from a reliable and respected company in Frigidaire.
Speed Fan Control
The large majority of dehumidifiers in this category have one or two-speed fan controls while this unit offers three speeds for an extra performance boost.
No Defrost Control Feature
Somewhat surprising is the fact this unit does not come with a defrost control feature. Defrost control is something that we have come to expect on most mid and high range Frigidaire models, but not this model apparently.
- Quality Design
- Side Access Continuous Drainage
- 3 Speed Fan Control
- Auto Shut-off Feature
- Water Bucket Full Audible Alert
- 13 Pint Water Tank
This Frigidaire FFAD5033r1 dehumidifier offers many features that make daily use convenient. The user controls are electronic with a clear digital display and allow for several different personalized settings such as desired humidity level, fan speed control, and automatic operation timers. Additionally, it comes with side access continuous drainage access, easy maintenance filter, and automatic shut-off when the water bucket gets full.
While the unit does offer many of the advantages we would expect from a Frigidaire design, it has two significant flaws in our opinion. First, it only comes with a 13-pint water tank, which is a touch small and tends to fill up quickly. Second, it is missing an auto defrost function, which would be a nice finishing touch to go along with the rest of the feature list.
We generally have a high opinion of Frigidaire models and many of them qualify as the best dehumidifier in their class, as they typically offer a good value. However, this model release is a little disappointing due to the size of the water bucket and missing defrost control. With all the other positive aspects of the unit, there is still plenty to appreciate about this model, but there may be other models that offer the finishing touches this unit is missing. It is still worthy of your consideration but if you will be manually emptying the water bucket and anticipate needing the defrost control, then take a second look before you make a purchase.
